What is a Mesa?

What is a Mesa you might ask? Well according to McKinley it would be me.

When McKinley was born I would sit around for hours thinking about what she would call me because Meredith is not the easiest word to say as a 12 month old. I thought of Aunt M but it sounded to much like The Wizard of Oz. Well, maybe she can call me Mer or Mer-Mer because that is what Morgan called me when we were little.

WRONG! Out of the blue on day she looked at me and said "Mesa". I looked puzzled. I pointed to my mom and she said "MeMe", pointed to Morgan and she said "Mama" pointed to me and she said "Mesa". I was not happy. Why in the hell is this little creature calling me Mesa? What is a Mesa anyway and where did she come up with this word?

I tried to change what she called me but she was not having it. It started to grow on me. Over the past few months she has started saying Mer or Meredith and I say that is not my name McKinley. My name is Mesa! :)

It all started

It all started on June 18, 2007. That was the day that I held you for the first time and absolutly fell in love. You were precious and i never could have imagined how much I could love another human being, and you were not even biologically mine!



You were precious and I could not wait to watch you grow up.

Changes

I have decided to make some changes to my blog. I have tried to keep scrapbooks in the past for my niece McKinley because I want her to have memories to look back on when she is old. Also because I know her mama, my sister, is NOT going to do it.

Scrapbboking just takes up too much time and I just don't have the patience. :) I have also done Snapfish books for her in the past but they can also get a little pricey. So I have decided to start documenting her life, starting with the wonderful terrible twos, on this blog.
